It may seem not worth to buy an Oyster Card anymore as it works exactly the same as contactless card, but if you have rail card you can apply it to the Oyster one and get 1/3 off of your tube journeys.
Bus Hopper Fare
All buses in London cost £1.50 and if you get two within same hour you will only be charged for the price of one. Buses are a great way to comfortably seat and look at the vibrant city.

City Mapper App is a perfect method to navigate yourself around London as it shows you the fastest and cheapest routes as well as connections between buses, tube and overground trains. It takes traffic and rush hours into consideration. Moreover, its completely free!
Consider Cycling
It seems that cycling in London is just a crazy idea. Nobody wants to be hit by the bus or cab, however there are number of special pathways and separate lines for the cyclists. For sure you need to be extra cautions but in the course of time it’s going to be fun! If you haven’t got your own bike, consider renting one from Santader Cycles. It costs only £2 and first 30 minutes are free!
Try To Travel Off Peak
If it’s possible try to avoid rush hours. Peak hours are usually from 6:30am-9:30am and 4pm-7pm during the weekdays and are extremely busy, then it’s better to avoid it!
If you’re not planning to sprint just remember to stand on the right. This will help to avoid loud commuters speeding on the escalators.
